Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, he said, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, he said, Al-Dahhak ibn Uthman narrated to us, on the authority of Ayyub ibn Musa, he said, I heard Muhammad ibn Ka'b Al-Qurazi, saying: I heard Abdullah bin Masoud say: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever recites a letter from... The Book of God, for him is a good deed in it, and a good deed is ten times greater than it. I do not say Lam is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” And it is narrated. This hadith is from a different direction, on the authority of Ibn Masoud, and it was narrated by Abu Al-Ahwas on the authority of Ibn Masoud. Some of them attributed it to a chain of narrators and some of them considered it to be unacceptable. On the authority of Ibn Masoud. Abu Issa said, “This is a hasan, authentic, and strange hadith from this perspective. I heard Qutaybah ibn Sa’id say, I have been informed that Muhammad ibn Ka'b Al-Qurazi was born during the lifetime of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Muhammad ibn Ka'b was nicknamed Abu Hamza.
