Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29183

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Muawiyah bin Hisham narrated to us, Sufyan Al-Thawri narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Ubaidah, on the authority of Abdullah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to me, “Recite to me.” So I said, O Messenger of God, recite to you, and to you was it revealed. He said “I love to hear it from someone else.” So I recited Surah An-Nisa until it reached: (We bring you as a witness against these) He said. Then I saw the eyes of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, neglecting it. Abu Issa said: This is more authentic than the hadith of Abu Al-Ahwas.
