Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29363

Qutaibah told us, Muhammad bin Sulaiman bin Al-Asbahani told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Ubaid, on the authority of Ata bin Abi Rabah, on the authority of Omar bin Abi Salamah, the stepson of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said when this verse was revealed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: (God only wants to go And purify you with a thorough purification) In the house of Umm Salamah, he called Fatima, Hasan, and Husayn, and covered them with a robe, and Ali was behind him. His back, and he covered them with a cloak, then said, “O God, these are my family, so remove from them the impurity and purify them with a thorough purification.” Umm Salamah said, “And I am with them, O Prophet of God.” He said, “You are in your place and you are well.” He said, “This is a strange hadith from this.” The narration is from the hadith of Ata’ on the authority of Omar bin Abi Salamah.
