Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29427

Abd bin Humaid told us, Othman bin Omar told us, on the authority of Al-Mustamir bin Al-Rayyan, on the authority of Abu Nadra, he said Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri read: (And know that among you is the Messenger of God. If he had obeyed you in most matters, you would have been cursed.) This was said by your Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to whom it was revealed. The best of your imams is that if they obeyed them in many matters, they would be cursed. So how are you today? Abu Issa said: This is a good, authentic, and strange hadith. Ali bin Al-Madini said: I asked Yahya bin Saeed Al-Qattan about Al-Mustamir bin Al-Rayyan, and he said he is trustworthy.
