Hadith #26902
Humayd bin Masada narrated to us, Sufyan bin Habib narrated to us, on the authority of Thawr bin Yazid, on the authority of Khalid bin Ma’dan, on the authority of Abdullah bin Busr, on the authority of his sister, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Do not fast on the Sabbath except what God has enjoined upon you. If none of you finds anything except The bark of a grape or the stick of a tree, let him chew it.” Abu Issa said, “This is a good hadith.” The meaning of his dislike of this is for a man to be singled out. On the Sabbath with fasting, because the Jews venerate the Sabbath.
