Hadith #29724
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Yazid bin Harun told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Amr Al-Fazari, on the authority of Abd Al-Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hisham, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to say in his Witr prayer, “O God, I seek refuge in Your pleasure.” From your anger, and I seek refuge in your pardon from your punishment, and I seek refuge in you from you, I do not praise you as you have praised yourself.” He said. This is a hasan and strange hadith from the hadith of Ali. We do not know it except through this route, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salamah.
