Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29534

Qutaibah told us, Ibn Lahi’ah told us, on the authority of Darraj, on the authority of Abu al-Haytham, on the authority of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was asked: The servants will be in the best rank with God on the Day of Resurrection. He said, “The men and women who remember God often.” I said, “O Messenger of God.” And whoever fights in the cause of God said, “If he were to strike his sword at the disbelievers and the polytheists until it broke and was drenched in blood, those who remember God would be Much better than him in rank.” Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith, but we know it from the hadith of Darraj.
