Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29895

Muhammad ibn Bashar, Ya’qub ibn Ibrahim, and more than one person narrated to us. They said: Abu Asim narrated to us, on the authority of Abu al-Jarrah. He said: Jabir ibn narrated to me. In the morning, he said, Umm Sharaheel told me, she said, Umm Atiya told me, she said the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent an army including Ali. She said, “I heard the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, raising his hands, saying, ‘Oh God, do not let me die until you show me Ali’. Abu Issa said this is a good hadith. It is strange, but we know it from this perspective.
