Abu Sa`id al-Ashjaj narrated to us, he said: Ismail bin Ibrahim Abu Yahya al-Taymi narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim Abu Ishaq narrated to us. Al-Makhzoumi, on the authority of Sa`id al-Maqbari, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: If I were to ask a man from among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, about the verses from The Qur’an I know better than him. I only ask him to give me something to feed me. Whenever I asked Ja’far bin Abi Talib, he would not answer me until he took me away. He went to his house and said to his wife, “O Asmaa, feed us something.” If you fed us, he would answer me. And Ja’far loved the poor. He would sit with them and talk to them and they would talk to him. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to call him the father of the poor. Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith. Abu Ishaq Al-Makhzoumi is Ibrahim bin Al-Fadl Al-Madani, and some of the people of hadith spoke about him because of his memorization. And he has strange things...
