Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26340

Hanad narrated to us, Abdah narrated to us, on the authority of Saeed, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Samurah ibn Jundub, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he said “ The middle prayer is the afternoon prayer.” He said, “And in this chapter there are narrations on the authority of Ali, Abdullah bin Masoud, Zayd bin Thabit, Aisha, and Hafsa.” And my father Huraira and Abu Hashim bin Utba. Abu Issa said. Muhammad said. Ali bin Abdullah said. The hadith of Al-Hasan on the authority of Samurah bin Jundub is a hadith. It is authentic and he heard it from him. Abu Issa said the hadith of Samurah in the middle prayer is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is the view of most scholars from The companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others. Zaid bin Thabit and Aisha said that the middle prayer is the noon prayer. Ibn Abbas and Ibn Omar said The middle prayer is the morning prayer. Abu Musa Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Quraysh ibn Anas narrated to us, on the authority of Habib ibn al-Shahid, who said Muhammad ibn Sirin said to me: Ask Al-Hasan from those who heard the hadith about the Aqeeqah, so I asked him and he said: I heard it from Samurah ibn Jundub. Abu Issa said. Muhammad ibn Ismail informed me, Ali ibn Abdullah ibn al-Madini told us, on the authority of Quraysh ibn Anas, with this hadith. Muhammad said: Ali said, “Al-Hasan’s hearing from Samurah is authentic.” He used this hadith as evidence.
