Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29950

Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, he said, Muhammad bin Ja’far narrated to us, he said Shu’bah narrated to us, he said, I heard Qatada, narrating on the authority of Anas bin Malik, He said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to Ubayy bin Ka’b, “Indeed, God has commanded me to recite to you: (It is not those who disbelieve).” He said, “He called me.” He said, “Yes.” Then he cried. Abu Issa said, “This is a good and authentic hadith. It was narrated on the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka’b. He said The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, told me something similar.
