Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, Abu Dawud told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Asim, he said, I heard Zirr bin Hubaysh, speaking on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka'b, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him, “Indeed, God has commanded me to recite to you.” So he recited to him: (It was not those who They disbelieved among the People of the Book.) So he recited in it, “Indeed, the true religion in the sight of God is the upright, Muslim religion, not Judaism or Christianity. If he does good, it will not be denied him.” And it was recited to him, “And if the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would seek a second for it, even if he had it.” Secondly, he seeks it. Thirdly, nothing fills the stomach of the son of Adam except dust, and God turns to whoever repents. Abu Issa said this is a good hadith. It was narrated from another source. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Abza, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka’b, that the Prophet prayed May God bless him and grant him peace. He said to Ubayy ibn Ka’b, “God has commanded me to recite the Qur’an to you.” Qatada narrated on the authority of Anas that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said To my father, “God has commanded me to recite the Qur’an to you.”
