Hadith #37824
وَعَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللّهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ ﷺ: «مَوْتُ الْفُجَاءَةِ أَخْذَةُ الْأَسَفِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَزَادَ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِىْ شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ وَرَزِيْنٌ فِي كِتَابِه: «أَخْذَةُ الأَسَفِ للْكَافِرِ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤمنِ
On the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Khalid, he said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Sudden death is the result of regret.” It was narrated by Abu Dawud, and Al-Bayhaqi added in Shu’ab Al-Iman and Razin in his book: “It takes away regret from the disbeliever and is mercy from the believer.”
