وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمنِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَنَّه كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «إِنَّا نَسْمَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَيْرٌ تَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتّى يُرْجِعَهُ اللّهُ فِي جَسَدِه يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُه» . رَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ وَالنَّسَائِيّ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي كِتَابِ الْبَعْثِ وَالنُّشُوْرِ
On the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Ka`b, on the authority of his father, he said: He used to narrate that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “We are the breath of a believer, a bird clinging to a tree.” Paradise until God returns him to his body on the day He resurrects him.” Narrated by Malik, Al-Nasa’i and Al-Bayhaqi in the Book of Resurrection and Resurrection
