Hadith #40138
وَعَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللّهَ أَمَدَّكُمْ بِصَلَاةٍ هِيَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ حُمْرِ النِّعَمِ: الْوِتْرُ جَعَلَهُ اللّهُ لَكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلى أَنْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ
On the authority of Kharijah bin Hudhafah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came out to us and said: God has provided you with a prayer that is better for you than red camels: he made it the string. May God protect you between the evening prayer and until dawn comes. Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood
