Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45719

Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Al-Rabi’ Al-Zahrani narrated to me, Ali bin Hakim Al-Awdi narrated to us, and Muhammad bin Jafar Al-Warkani narrated to us, And Zakaria bin Yahya, Rahmuwayh, narrated to us, and Abdullah bin Amir bin Zurarah Al-Hadrami narrated to us, and Dawud bin Amr Al-Dhabi, they said, Sharik narrated to us, on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Hanash, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent me to Yemen as a judge, so I said, “You will send me to a people, and I am young and I have no knowledge of the judiciary.” So he put his hand on my chest and said, “I confirm you.” May God guide you. When two adversaries come to you, do not make up your mind for the first until you hear from the other, for it is better that the decision be made clear to you. He said, “I continued.” A judge, and this is the wording of the hadith of Dawud bin Amr al-Dhabi, and some of them are more complete than others. Abdullah narrated to us, Muhammad bin Suleiman Luwayn, and Muhammad bin Jabir told us, on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Hanash, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him. He said, “The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent me.” He sent a judge to Yemen, and he mentioned the hadith. He said, “God strengthens your heart and guides your heart,” so he mentioned the hadith. Luwin said Sharik told us on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Hanash, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, with a similar meaning.
