Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46243

On the authority of Omar Ibn Ata’, that Nafi’ Ibn Jubair sent him to Al-Sa’ib, Nimr’s nephew, asking him about something that Mu’awiyah had seen from him during the prayer, and he said: Yes, I prayed Friday prayers with him in the maqsarah. When the imam said his greetings, I stood in my place and prayed. When he entered, he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you did: If you prayed Friday prayers, do not connect it with a prayer until you speak or leave, for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded us to do so not to join a prayer with another prayer until we speak or We go out.
