"On the authority of Ibn Masoud, may God be pleased with..." — Riyad as-Salihin # 1884

Hadith #46683

وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏"‏إني لأعلم آخر النار خروجاً منها، وآخر أهل الجنة دخولاً الجنة، رجل يخرج من النار حبوا؛ فيقول الله عز وجل له‏:‏ اذهب فادخل الجنة، فيأتيها، فيخيل إليه أنها ملأى، فيرجع فيقول‏:‏ يا رب وجدتها ملأى، فيقول الله عز وجل له‏:‏ اذهب فادخل الجنة، فيرجع ، فيقول‏:‏ يا رب وجدتها ملأى، في سورة يقول الله عز وجل له ‏:‏ اذهب فادخل الجنة ، فيأتيها، فيخيل إليه أنها ملأى، فيرجع، فيقول‏:‏ يا رب وجدتها ملأى‏!‏ فيقول الله عز وجل له‏:‏ اذهب فادخل الجنة، فإن لك مثل الدنيا وعشرة أمثالها أو إن لك مثل عشرة أمثال الدنيا، فيقول‏:‏ أتسخر بي، أو تضحك بي وأنت الملك” قال‏:‏ فلقد رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ضحك حتى بدت نواجذه فكان يقول‏:‏ ‏"‏ذلك أدنى أهل الجنة منزلة‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

On the authority of Ibn Masoud, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “I know the last person to exit from Hell, and the last of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise, is a man who comes out of Hell crawling; so God Almighty says to him: Go and enter Paradise. Then he comes back and says: O Lord, I found it full Surah: God Almighty says to him: Go and enter Paradise. He comes to it and imagines that it is full, so he returns and says: O Lord, I have found it full! Then God Almighty says to him: Go and enter Paradise, for you have the equivalent of the world and ten times as much, or you have the equivalent of ten times the world. Then he says: Do you mock me, or laugh at me while you are the king? He said: I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, laughing. Until his molars appeared and he would say: “That He is the lowest in status to the people of Paradise” (Agreed upon).
