Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46682

On the authority of Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: “Moses, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, asked his Lord, ‘Who is the lowest in status to the people of Paradise?’ He said: He is a man who comes after the people of Paradise have entered Paradise, and it is said to him: Enter Paradise. Then he says: ‘O Lord, how can you, when the people have descended into their places and taken what they deserve?’ So He says to him: ‘Would you be content to have a king like a king? The kings of the world? And he says: I am satisfied, Lord He says: This is for you, and like it, and like it, and like it, and like it. Then he says on the fifth: “I am satisfied, O Lord.” He says: “This is for you and ten times like it, and for you is whatever your soul desires, and what pleases your eyes.” So he says: “I am satisfied, O Lord.” He said, “My Lord, so who is the highest in status?” He said: “Those are those whom you wanted.” I planted their dignity with my hand and sealed it, so no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has entered into it.” ((Narrated by Muslim)).
