حَدَّثَنَا بَيَانٌ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ حَزْنٍ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا يُنَادِي بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ‏:‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ لاَ يَخْلِطُهُ شَيْءٌ، قُلْتُ‏:‏ مَنْ هَذَا الشَّيْخُ‏؟‏ قِيلَ‏:‏ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ‏.‏
Bayan narrated to us, he said: Yazid narrated to us, he said: Al-Jariri narrated to us, on the authority of Thumama bin Hazn, who said: I heard a sheikh calling for the highest His voice: Oh God, I seek refuge in You from evil, not mixed with anything. I said: Who is this sheikh? It was said: Abu Al-Darda’.
