حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَدَعَا بِدُعَاءٍ كَثِيرٍ لاَ نَحْفَظُهُ، فَقُلْنَا: دَعَوْتَ بِدُعَاءٍ لاَ نَحْفَظُهُ؟ فَقَالَ: سَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ يَجْمَعُ ذَلِكَ كُلَّهُ لَكُمْ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِمَّا سَأَلَكَ نَبِيُّكَ مُحَمَّدٌ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَنَسْتَعِيذُكَ مِمَّا اسْتَعَاذَكَ مِنْهُ نَبِيُّكَ مُحَمَّدٌ صلى الله عليه وسلم، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمُسْتَعَانُ وَعَلَيْكَ الْبَلاَغُ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ.
Muhammad bin Abi Bakr told us, he said: Mu’tamar told us, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Thabit bin Ajlan, on the authority of Abu Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Umamah He said: We were with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said many supplications that we have not memorized, so we said: Did you pray for a supplication that we have not memorized? So he said: I will inform you of something that brings together all of this for you: Oh God, we ask you from what your Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, asked you, and we seek refuge from what he sought refuge with you. From him is your Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. Oh God, you are the One who seeks help, and it is upon You to convey the message.
