Al-Zubair Muhammad, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, said: We were with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he came to two graves and was being tortured. He befriended them and said: They are not to be punished for a major matter, and indeed, one of them used to backbite people, and the other was not harmed by anyone. Urine, so he called for a damp piece of paper, or two pieces of paper, and broke them, then he ordered each piece to be planted on a grave, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said God, peace and blessings be upon him: Either their torment will be lightened as long as they are wet, or not dry.
