حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ يَسِيرُ مَعَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَمَرَّ عَلَى بَغْلٍ مَيِّتٍ قَدِ انْتَفَخَ، فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ، لَأَنْ يَأْكُلَ أَحَدُكُمْ هَذَا حَتَّى يَمْلَأَ بَطْنَهُ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ مُسْلِمٍ.
Ibn Numayr told us, he said: My father told me, he said: Ismail told us, on the authority of Qays, who said: Amr ibn al-Aas was walking with a group of His companions, then he passed by a dead mule that had bloated, and he said: By God, for one of you to eat this until he fills his stomach, it is better than to eat Muslim meat...
