حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ صِبْيَانُ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا، وَأَرْسَلَنِي فِي حَاجَةٍ، وَجَلَسَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ يَنْتَظِرُنِي حَتَّى رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ، قَالَ: فَأَبْطَأْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ، فَقَالَتْ: مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ فَقُلْتُ: بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي حَاجَةٍ، قَالَتْ: مَا هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ: إِنَّهَا سِرٌّ، قَالَتْ: فَاحْفَظْ سِرَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Muhammad bin Salam told us, he said: Abu Khaled Al-Ahmar told us, on the authority of Humaid, on the authority of Anas: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to us while we were boys. So he greeted us, sent me on a need, and sat on the road waiting for me until I returned to him. He said: So I lingered to see Umm Sulaim. She said: What is holding you back? I said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent me about a need. She said: What is it? I said: It is a secret. She said: So keep the secret. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
