Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48506

On the authority of Abu Dharr, he said: We fasted with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, during Ramadan, and he did not lead us in any of the months until there were seven days left, so he led us in prayer until A third of the night passed, and when it was six, he did not lead us in prayer. When it was five, he stayed with us until half of the night had passed, so I said: O Messenger of God. If we could get away with praying this night. He said: “When a man prays with the imam until he leaves, it is counted for him to have prayed for the night.” He said: When it was the fourth time, he did not get up. When it was the third time, he gathered his family, his wives, and the people, and he stayed with us until we feared that we would miss the farmer. He said: I said: What is a farmer? He said: Suhoor. Then he didn't see us for the rest of the month. It was narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi, and Al-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah narrated something similar, except that Al-Tirmidhi did not mention: Then he did not visit us for the rest of the month.
