Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49105

On the authority of Abu Jari Jabir bin Sulaym, he said: I came to Medina and saw a man whose opinion was deviated from by the people. He did not say anything but they dissented from it. I said: Who? This is what they said: This is the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. I said: Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God twice. He said: “Do not say ‘Alaikum’.” Peace be upon you. Greeting the dead says peace be upon you. I said: Are you the Messenger of God? He said: “I am the Messenger of God who, if harm befalls you and you call upon it, he will remove it from you, and if a year befalls you then you call upon him, he will cause it to grow for you, and if you In a barren or desert land, your camel became lost, so you called him. He returned it to you. I said: Entrust me. He said: “Do not insult anyone.” He said, “After him I did not insult a free man, a slave, a camel, or a sheep.” He said: “Do not despise any act of kindness, or speak to your brother while you lower your face toward him. Indeed, that is a matter of kindness. And lift up your garment.” To half The leg, and if you refuse, then to the ankles.
