Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50523

On the authority of Hilal ibn Usama, on the authority of Abu Maimunah Sulayman, a servant of the people of Medina, who said: While I was sitting with Abu Hurairah, a woman came to him. A Persian woman with her had a son. Her husband had divorced her, so they claimed him for him. She said to him, “O Abu Hurairah, my husband wants to take my son away.” So he said Abu Hurairah: He asked them to make a mistake about it. Then her husband came and said: Who will dispute with me about my son? Abu Hurairah said: Oh God, I do not say this except that I was sitting with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and a woman came to him. She said: O Messenger of God, my husband wants to He takes my son, and he has benefited me, and he gave me to drink from the well of Abu Anabah, and according to Al-Nasa’i: from fresh water, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Put two shares on it.” Then her husband said, “Who will take care of my child?” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “This is your father and this Your mother, take by the hand whichever you wish.” So he took his mother’s hand.
