Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50694

On the authority of Buraidah, he said: Ma’iz bin Malik came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Messenger of God, purify me. He said: “Woe to you, go back and ask forgiveness from God.” And repent to him.” He said: He returned not far away, then came and said: O Messenger of God, purify me. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said He greeted him like that until, when it was the fourth time, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: “With what shall I purify you?” He said: From adultery. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Is he insanity?” He was told that he was not crazy, so he said: “Did he drink wine?” Then a man stood up He smelt it but did not smell any smell of wine. He said: “Have you committed adultery?” He said: Yes, so he ordered that he be stoned. They stayed for two or three days, then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and said: “Ask forgiveness for Ma’iz bin Malik.” He has repented with a repentance that, if divided among a nation, would encompass them.” Then A woman from Ghamid, from Azd, came to him and said: O Messenger of God, purify me. He said: “Woe to you, go back and ask forgiveness from God and repent to Him.” She said: Do you want to reject me as you rejected Ma’iz ibn Malik: She is pregnant as a result of adultery? He said: “You?” She said: Yes. He said to her: “Until you put what is in Your stomach.” He said: A man from the Ansar took care of her until she gave birth. Then he came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: Al-Ghamidiyah has given birth. He said: “Then we will not stone her.” And we will leave her child as a child who has no one to breastfeed him.” Then a man from the Ansar stood up and said: May he be breastfed, O Prophet of God. He said: So he stoned her. And in a narration: He said to her: “Go until you give birth,” and when she gave birth, he said: “Go and breastfeed him until you wean him.” And when she weaned him, she came to him. With the boy in his hand a piece of bread, and she said: This, O Prophet of God, I have weaned him and he has eaten the food. So he gave the boy to a man from Muslims, then he ordered her to be dug up to her chest, and he ordered the people to stone her. Then Khalid bin Al-Walid approached with a stone and threw a stone at her head, and blood dripped out. On the face of Khaled, he insulted her, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Wait, Khaled, by the One in whose hand is my soul, she has repented with the repentance of A tax owner repented of her, and he would be forgiven.” Then he ordered that she be returned, the funeral prayer was performed over her, and she was buried.
