حَدَّثَنِي فَرْوَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَوْلَا حَدَاثَةُ عَهْدِ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ، لَنَقَضْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ ثُمَّ لَبَنَيْتُهَا عَلَى أُسِّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، فَإِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حِينَ بَنَتْ اسْتَقْصَرَتْ، ثُمَّ جَعَلَتْ لَهَا خَلْفًا "
Farwah bin Abi Al-Mughra’ narrated to me, Ali bin Mushar narrated to us, on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, she said: He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, told me: “If it were not for the recent covenant of disbelief among your people, I would have destroyed the Kaaba and then built it on the foundations of Abraham. So When the Quraysh were young, they remained retarded, then they appointed a successor for them.”
