حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو قَزَعَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُهَاجِرًا يَقُولُ : سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ رَفْعِ الْأَيْدِي عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ الْيَهُودُ،حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفَصَنَعْنَا ذَلِكَ؟ "
Ubayd Allah ibn Abdul Majeed al-Hanafi told us, Shu`bah told us, Abu Qaza’ah told me, he said: I heard a muhajir say: Jabir ibn Abdullah stopped raising hands at the House, and said: “The Jews used to do that. We performed Hajj with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” May God bless him and grant him peace. Did we do that? "
