أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ :" كُنَّا نَغْزُو مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلا هذَا السَّمُرُ، وَوَرَقُ الْحُبْلَةِ، حَتَّى إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا لَيَضَعُ كَمَا تَضَعُ الشَّاةُ، مَالَهُ خِلْطٌ، ثُمَّ أَصْبَحَتْ بَنُو أَسَدٍ تُعَزِّرُنِي ! لَقَدْ خِبْتُ إِذَنْ وَضَلَّ عَمَلِيَهْ "
Ya’la told us, Ismail told us, on the authority of Qays, on the authority of Saad bin Abi Waqqas, who said: “We used to fight with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. We have no food except this brown sheep and the leaves of a camel, to the point that one of us lays down as a sheep lays down, his mind is not mixed. Then the Banu Asad became You will excuse me! I have failed then, and my deeds have gone astray.”
