Nasr bin Ali Al-Jahdhami and Ahmad bin Abi Ubayd Allah Al-Sulaymi Al-Basri told us, saying: Abu Qutaybah told us, Salam bin Qutaybah, on the authority of Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Hashimi, on the authority of Abdul-Rahman Al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “He came to me Gabriel said, “O Muhammad, when you perform ablution, wash yourself.” Abu Issa said, “This is a strange hadith.” He said, “And I heard Muhammad say, Al-Hasan b. Ali Al-Hashimi is a denier of hadith. He said, on the authority of Abu Al-Hakam bin Sufyan, Ibn Abbas, Zayd bin Haritha, and Abu Saeed Al-Khudri. Some of them said: Sufyan bin Al-Hakam or Al-Hakam bin Sufyan, and they were confused about this hadith.
