Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26217

It was narrated in a hadith on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said, “Whoever performs ablution in a state of purity, God will record for him ten good deeds.” He said: This hadith was narrated by Al-Ifriqi on the authority of Abu Ghaytif, on the authority of Ibn Omar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Al-Hussein bin Al-Hussein told us about that. Harith Al-Marwazi Muhammad bin Yazid Al-Wasiti narrated to us on the authority of Al-Ifriqi. It is a weak chain of narration. Ali bin Al-Madini said, Yahya said Ibn Sa`id al-Qattan mentioned this hadith to Hisham ibn Urwa, and he said: This is an eastern chain of transmission. He said, I heard Ahmad ibn al-Hasan say I heard Ahmad ibn Hanbal say, “I have not seen with my own eyes anything like Yahya ibn Sa’id al-Qattan.”
