Ahmad bin Abdah al-Dhabi told us, Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad told us, on the authority of Qudama bin Musa, on the authority of Muhammad bin al-Husayn, on the authority of Abu Alqamah, on the left, is a client of Ibn Omar on the authority of Ibn Omar, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “There is no prayer after dawn except two prostrations.” The meaning of this hadith is that it says that there is no prayer after the break of dawn except for the two rak’ahs of dawn. He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr and Hafsa. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Ibn Umar is a strange hadith. We do not know it except from the hadith of Qudamah bin Musa, and more than one person narrated from him. This is what the people of knowledge have unanimously agreed upon. They dislike a man praying after the break of dawn except for the two rak’ahs of dawn.
