Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26853

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Waki’ narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, H., and Hanad narrated to us, Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, Qutayba narrated to us, saying, Sufyan bin Uyaynah informed us, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, on the authority of Hafsa bint Sirin, on the authority of Al-Rabbab, on the authority of Salman bin Amir Al-Dhabi, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: “If one of you breaks his fast, let him break his fast with dates.” Ibn Uyaynah added. It is a blessing, so whoever does not find it, let him break his fast with water, for it is purification.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
