Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26989

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that a man said, “Where do we get our descent from?” Messenger of God, and he said, “The people of Medina from Dhu al-Hulaifah, the people of Syria from al-Juhfa, and the people of Najd from Qarn.” He said. And they say, “And the people of Yemen are from Yalamlam.” He said, and in this chapter on the authority of Ibn Abbas, Jabir bin Abdullah, and Abdullah bin Amr. He said. Abu Issa, the hadith of Ibn Umar is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.
