Hadith #27005
Qutaibah told us, on the authority of Malik ibn Anas, on the authority of Abu al-Nadr, on the authority of Nafi’, Abu Qatada’s client, on the authority of Abu Qatada, that he was with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He greeted him until, when he was on the road to Mecca, he remained behind with companions of his who were in ihram, and he was not in ihram, and he saw a wild donkey and sat on it. His horse, so he asked his companions to give him his whip, but they refused. So he asked them for his spear, but they refused, so he took it, then attacked the donkey and killed it. So some of the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, ate from it, but some of them refused. Then they came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and asked him about that, and he said, “Only “It is a food that God has fed you.”
