Hadith #27010
Yahya bin Musa told us, Harun bin Salih al-Talhi told us, Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Umar, He said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, washed himself with a trap after entering Mecca. Abu Issa said: This is an unpreserved hadith. What is correct is what Nafi’ narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar said that he used to perform ablution to enter Mecca. Al-Shafi’i says that it is recommended to perform ablution to enter Mecca. And Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd Ibn Aslam is weak in the hadith. Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Ali ibn al-Madini and others made it weak, and we do not know of this hadith as being traceable to the Prophet. Except for his hadith.
