Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27184

Ahmad ibn Mani` narrated to us, Zaid ibn Hubab narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Uthman narrated to us, on the authority of al-Hakam, on the authority of Miqsam, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited at the funeral the opening of the book. He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Umm Sharik. Abu Issa said the hadith of Ibn Abbas. A hadith whose chain of narration is not that strong. Ibrahim bin Uthman is Abu Shaybah al-Wasiti, who denies the hadith. The authentic one is on the authority of Ibn Abbas. He said that it is Sunnah to recite the opening of the book at the funeral.
