حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَفَهِمْتُ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ عَلَيْهِ
" اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْبَرَدِ وَاغْسِلْهُ كَمَا يُغْسَلُ الثَّوْبُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَصَحُّ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ .
Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi narrated to us, Muawiyah bin Salih narrated to us, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr, On the authority of his father, on the authority of Awf ibn Malik, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, praying over a dead person, so I understood from his prayer over him, “Oh God Forgive him and have mercy on him and wash him with hail and wash him as a garment is washed.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Muhammad said: Ibn Ismail, the most authentic thing in this section is this hadith.
