Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27429

Qutaibah narrated to us, Dawud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Attar narrated to us, on the authority of Amr bin Dinar, on the authority of Abu Al-Minhal, on the authority of Iyas bin Abd Al-Muzani said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade the sale of water. He said: And in this chapter, on the authority of Jabir and Bahissa, on the authority of her father, and Abu Hurairah and Aisha. And Anas and Abdullah bin Amr. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Iyas is a good and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge. They disliked selling water. This is the opinion of Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Some people of knowledge have permitted Sell Water. Among them is good vision.
