Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27485

Hanad told us, We talked wakely, about Shu 'bah, about my father, Awn al-Thaqafi, about al-Harith ibn 'Umar, about men, about the companions of Ma 'adh ibn Ma 'adh, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, sent Ma 'adh to Yemen and said, "How can you judge?" And he said, I will judge what is in the Book of Allah.He said:" “And if it is not in the Book of God,” he said, “then in the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He said, “If it is not in the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He said, “I will try my best to give my opinion.” He said, “Praise be to God, who gave success to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.”
