Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27749

Saeed bin Yahya bin Saeed Al-Umayy told us, Issa bin Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, in the Almighty’s saying: (God was indeed pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree) Jabir said We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that we would not flee, and we did not pledge allegiance to him on death. He said, and on the authority of Salama ibn al-Akwa’, Ibn Umar, and Ubadah. And Jarir bin Abdullah. Abu Issa said: This hadith was narrated on the authority of Issa bin Yunus, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Many people said what Jabir bin Abdullah said, but Abu Salamah was not mentioned in it.
