حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ مِنَ الْوَحْدَةِ مَا سَرَى رَاكِبٌ بِلَيْلٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي وَحْدَهُ ‏.‏
Ahmad bin Abdah al-Dhabi al-Basri narrated to us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Asim bin Muhammad, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said “If people knew what I know about being alone, no rider would travel at night.” He means alone.
