Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27975

Ahmad bin Saeed Al-Ashqar narrated to us, and Ibrahim bin Yaqoub narrated to us, saying: Yunus bin Muhammad narrated to us, Al-Mufaddal bin Fadalah narrated to us, on the authority of Habib bin The martyr, on the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, took a leper by the hand. So he put it in the bowl with him and then said, “Eat in the name of God, trusting in God and trusting in Him.” Abu Issa said, “This is a strange hadith.” We know him only from the hadith of Yunus bin Muhammad on the authority of Al-Mufaddal bin Fadalah. Shu’bah narrated this hadith on the authority of Habib ibn al-Shahid on the authority of Ibn Buraidah said that Ibn Omar took the hand of a leper, and the hadith of Shu`bah is more reliable and sound in my opinion.
