Hadith #27949
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, Ibn Jurayj told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair, on the authority of Ibn Abu Ammar, he said: I told Jabir the hyena he caught. He said: Yes. He said: I eat it. He said: Yes. He said: I told him: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said it. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Yes. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Some people of knowledge have held this view and did not believe in eating a hyena. Valiant, and it is the statement of Ahmad and Ishaq. A hadith was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, about the dislike of eating a hyena, and its chain of transmission is not strong. Some scholars disliked eating a hyena, and this is the opinion of Ibn al-Mubarak. Yahya al-Qattan said, and Jarir ibn Hazim narrated this hadith. On the authority of Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair, on the authority of Ibn Abi Ammar, on the authority of Jabir, on the authority of Umar, his statement. And the hadith of Ibn Jurayj is more authentic. And Ibn Abi Ammar is Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah bin Abi Ammar Al Makki.
