Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28008

Muhammad bin Maymun Al-Makki told us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah told us, Malik bin Anas told me, on the authority of Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talha, On the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said, I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, running around in the desert - meaning the saddlebag, and I still love him. He said: Abu Issa, this is a hasan and authentic hadith. This hadith was narrated through more than one authority, on the authority of Anas, and it was narrated that he saw the snails in the hands of the Messenger of God. God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to him, “What is this?” He said, “This is an animal with which we multiply our food.”
