Hadith #28872
Qutaibah narrated to us, Ubayd Allah bin Al-Harith narrated to us, on the authority of Anbasa, on the authority of Muhammad bin Zazan, on the authority of Umm Saad, on the authority of Zayd bin Thabit, he said I entered upon the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and a scribe was in his hands, and I heard him say, “Put the pen to your ear, for it is a reminder to the one who is dictating.” Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith. We do not know it except from this direction, and it is a weak chain of narration. And Anbasa bin Abd al-Rahman And Muhammad bin Zazan is doubled in the hadith.
