Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27240

Abu Hisham Al-Rifai, Zayd bin Akhzam Al-Tai, and Ishaq bin Ibrahim Al-Basri told us, they said: Muadh bin Hisham told us, on the authority of His father, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Samurah, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade celibacy. Abu Issa said, and Zayd ibn Akhzam added. In his hadith, Qatada recited: (And We sent messengers before you and appointed for them wives and offspring.) He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Saad And Anas bin Malik, Aisha, and Ibn Abbas. Abu Issa said the hadith of Samurah is a good and strange hadith. Al-Ash’ath bin Abd al-Malik narrated This The hadith is on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Saad bin Hisham, on the authority of Aisha, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the like. It is said that both hadiths are authentic.
