حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَوْ عَلَيْنَا أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ : ( الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا ) لاَتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا . فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَىَّ يَوْمٍ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ أُنْزِلَتْ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
Ibn Abi Umar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Mis’ar, and others, on the authority of Qais bin Muslim, on the authority of Tariq bin Shihab, he said: A man from The Jews by Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, O Commander of the Faithful, if only this verse had been revealed to us: (Today I had perfected for you your religion and completed On you My blessing and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. We certainly took that day as a holiday. Then Omar ibn al-Khattab said to him, “I know on what day it was revealed.” This verse was revealed on the day of Arafat, on a Friday. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
